Job Description

One of the reputed University in UAE invites applicants for the position of Assistant Professor / Associate Professor in Geotechnical / Geo-Environmental Engineering.

Job Description:

- Teach undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in Civil Engineering and assist in delivering basic engineering courses.
- Establish a sustainable research program and make significant scholarly contributions to Geotechnical and/or Geo-Environmental Engineering.
- Conduct research in areas including soil-structure interaction, bio-mediated and sustainable soil improvement, climate-responsive behavior of problematic soils, techno-economic analysis, big data analytics, and AI applications in civil engineering.
- Bridge traditional civil engineering disciplines with emerging digital technologies to advance research and education.
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate students and supervise capstone graduation projects.
- Conduct independent research and contribute to scholarly activities.
- Attract externally funded research projects and produce publications in top-ranked international journals.
- Contribute to advising and mentoring of undergraduate and postgraduate students, including supervision of M.Sc. and Ph.D. students.
- Provide services to the community, society, and university.
- Collaborate with research centers within the university.
- Work effectively with internal and external academic and professional communities.
 

Job Profile

 
Minimum Qualification:
- Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from a reputable international university.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
- Industrial and professional experience is considered an advantage.
 
Preferred Qualification:
- Ability to teach a variety of undergraduate- and graduate-level courses.
- Ability to develop new courses or course components.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work collegially and collaboratively with diverse internal and external constituencies.
 
Expected Skills:
- Sustained record of high-quality publications in leading international journals in Geotechnical and/or Geo-Environmental Engineering.
- Ability to develop independent research, secure research funds, and establish a strong network with industrial partners.
- Experience with laboratory testing, field investigations, and numerical modeling relevant to Geotechnical/Geo-Environmental Engineering.
- Ability to teach a variety of undergraduate- and graduate-level courses and develop new courses or course components.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collegially and collaboratively with diverse internal and external constituencies.
- Familiarity with outcome-based education and accreditation processes such as ABET or equivalent.
- Willingness to contribute to curriculum development and continuous program improvement.
